It is a well known truth that as more motivation exists, as more likely a successful outcome is achieved. If we review the last 6 months, it is exactly what we experienced. Here a short glimpse of innovations we would like to highlight: Apart from various new distribution agreements, our new LLS-Group is now providing high quality LED lighting solutions from single LED components up to complete LED Lamp solutions.
Technical support and competence were always MSC’s strength and therefore we are glad to announce the construction of a new development site to focus and continue on providing first class solutions.

Hitachi Awards MSC Vertriebs GmbH as the Distributor of the Year 2009

Frank Dettweiler, Product and Marketing Manager of MSC Vertriebs GmbH Receives the Hitachi DPG Distributor Award of the Year 2009 from Reinhard Tillmann (Distribution Manager Hitachi DPG).

For those who know about the close cooperation lasting for two and a half decades between Hitachi Europe Ltd, Display Products Group (DPG) and MSC Vertriebs GmbH, might have foreseen. Anticipation turned into certainty as Hitachi (DPG) honoured MSC Vertriebs GmbH the 4th time within the last five years as „Distributor of the Year“ during the distribution conference in Milan 2010. 

General Manager Akihiko Koizumi and Reinhard Tillmann, Distribution Manager of Hitachi DPG elucidate the motivations for the election of the recipient with outstanding economical success, market share wins together with exceedingly customer proximity, positive resonance and the qualified competence of their strongest partner for STN- and TFT modules within the year 2009 in Europe under the line management of Frank Dettweiler.

Gaggione and MSC Vertriebs GmbH Sign Distribution Agreement

Gaggione GammeMontréal La Cluse/Stutensee, May 2010, - Gaggione SAS and MSC Vertriebs GmbH signed a pan-European cooperation agreement. Gaggione is an ISO 9001 and ISO TS 16949 certified company and a leader in producing solutions using polymers for customers around the world. The company provides comprehensive design, development and manufacturing capabilities for the production of standardized and customized thermoplastic optics with state of the art production technologies and facilities. Since launching the first collimator for the high power LED made in the 90’s, Gaggione has continuously grown and expanded its optics experience including the design and release of new solutions and a diverse product range.

Under the agreement, MSC Vertriebs GmbH, among the top 5 leading high-tech distributors of electronic components, will distribute the entire standardized LednLight portfolio providing rapid development solutions for LED applications. The optics themselves are applied outside of the LED package and are designed and used to control and create and control the desired appearance and beam pattern from the LED light source.

SiTime Corporation and MSC Vertriebs GmbH Sign Pan-European Distribution Agreement

Dornach, near Munich (Germany) – MSC Vertriebs GmbH and SiTime Corporation today signed distribution agreement covering whole Europe and Turkey.

SiTime Corporation as analog semiconductor company addresses the timing market with silicon solutions that replace conventional, quartz-based products. SiTime’s leadership products are the smallest, thinnest, most robust, reliable, configurable, and offer the short lead times. The company’s solutions are the heartbeat of high-performance electronics such as FTTH (Fibre To The Home) and Passive Optical Networking (PON) equipment, 10-Gigabit Ethernet switches, computing and storage servers as well as high volume applications such as digital cameras, LCD HDTVs, PC desktops and laptops, Set Top Boxes (STB), time switch clocks, programmable controllers, multi-function printers Solid State Drives (SSD) as well as for various applications of the automotive sector.

Fast, Efficient and Reliable – the Modular Test Contactor System Y-RED

A New Dimension in Socket Technology!

MSC Vertriebs GmbH presents the customized test contactor Y-RED of the renowned manufacturer Yamaichi.
Y-RED is equipped with a new high performance spring probe with crown plunger tip for BGA and conical plunger tip for LGA and QFN packages. The two-piece pin combines extraordinary mechanical and electrical features. The contact resistance is far below 50 milliohm and shows an outstanding stability up to 500,000 mating cycles.

The pin is available for the standard temperature range of -40 up to +125°C and high temperature range of -55 up to +150°C.

The volume test socket and the hinged type system is perfectly suited for lab applications like burn-in / HAST, qualification, failure analysis and initial lab tests covers BGA, LGA and QFN packages with dimensions of up to 45 x 45 mm and pitches starting from 0.4 mm.

With years of experience in designing customized test contactors, Y-RED combines state-of-the-art design and high-grade ease of use. Highly standardized single parts allow a time-to-customer within 3-4 weeks between enquiry and product delivery. The Y-RED family is fully RoHS compliant.

Black Beauty - 17inch (43,18 cm) Open Frame Display

The FPDS group of MSC Vertriebs GmbH is offering touch panel integrations in all available technologies and front protection glass. Protection glass is necessary, when the display will be used in tough environments. High value touch panels are essential, when the customer’s application requires optimized light transmission and precision.

The new product of the FPDS group is the 17-Inch Wide (43.18 cm) Open Frame display with a resolution of 1280 x 1024 (SXGA). The display impresses with a high luminance of 300 cd/m², a contrast ratio of 500:1 and 16.7 M colors.

The integrated AD board inclusive OSD (MSC in-house development) provides an analog D-Sub 15 interface. As power supply serves an external DC 12 Volts unit. Beside an elegant black colored and rugged metalchassis, the display offers a wide range of mechanical integration, such Vesa 75 and Vesa 100. Side-gated bracket will allow the front mounted integration.

Optional the FPDS-170OF-EG01-2535- BLACK is available with a 5-wire resistive touch panel (USB). The 17-Inch (43.18 cm) open frame display is perfectly suited for various applications in the sectors automation, industrial, gaming, POI, POS and digital signage.

Oscillator SiT8103 for ≤ 100 MHz Applications

LGA060-F42-01 – Quadruple LED Power Supply Meets EN55055 Class B

Protection Class IP67 for Indoor and Outdoor LED Lighting!

To benefit from energy savings and long life a growing number of indoor and street lights, message displays, traffic lights, warning lights and traffic signs the change to light emitting diodes becomes more and more popular.

Manufacturers of the equipments save design, development, optimization, production and test of their individual power supplies by using the LED power supplies from YDS now available at MSC Vertriebs GmbH.

The latest addition to this product family, the LGA060-F42-01 features a universal line input 90-264 VAC/50-60 Hz and four independent outputs, each providing a current of 350±30 mA. The current is precisely regulated over the entire input voltage range and a load voltage range of 36 to 42 V. The ready-to-use LED power supply meets protection class IP67, has an input-to-output isolation of 3000 VAC and complies with EN 55015 and EN 55022 (CLSPR22) Class B as well as IEC 1000-4-2, -4-3 und -4-5.

Other important specifications include 88 % efficiency, power factor correction as well as over temperature, over voltage, over current and short circuit protection. The LGA060-F-42-01 LED power supply comes in a robust package 210 mm long, 62 mm wide and 42 mm high with 300 mm long input and output cables. The electrical characteristics can be modified to for meeting customers’ requirements.

Ixys - New Moduls for High-Temperature Applications

MSC Offers the Minimized Power Rectification Module of the New Simbus A Generation

Ixys New Simbus A Generation

With the qualification of the Simbus A package outline (distributed by MSC) , IXYS is introducing additional features which improve assembly time including spring contacts for a solder-free connection of the control board. Furthermore the devices offer a maximum junction temperature of 140°C facilitated by the well-proven clip-soldered die technology and an optimized connection of the isolation substrate with a copper base plate delivers a module with an extremely high power density and high reliability.

The first products are a set of three 1600 V phase-leg rectifier topologies. 

The dual thyristor module MCMA200P1600SA features two thyristors of 200 A rating in phase leg topology and will be followed by the dual diode version MDMA200P1600SA and the thyristor/diode combination MCMA200PD1600SA for a more flexible circuit requirement.

The Simbus A also included IXYS Direct Copper Bonded (DCB) substrates that allow the user 4800 V isolation voltage from the terminals to the heatsink.

Perfectly suited are the Simbus A modules as input bridge rectification for AC or DC motor control running off 230 V AC mains supply or for general purpose power conversion equipment.

New Capacitive Touch Controller

Atmel's First Automotive Capacitive Touch Controller

MSC Vertriebs GmbH introduces the first standard product capacitive touch controller in the industry that is fully qualified for the automotive market. Based on the patented QTouch® capacitive touch technology for buttons, sliders and wheels, the AT42QT1110 is a ready-to-use 11-key capacitive touch controller. It meets all device specification requirements for the automotive industry.

These products are ideal for automobile applications such as global positioning systems (GPS), window and mirror control, keyless remote entry etc.

Atmel achieved this qualification by developing these products in a facility that is fully compliant with the ISO-TS-16949 and QS-9000 standards. The firmware is written according to the Motor Industry Software Reliability Association C (MISRA C) standard and qualified according to the AEC-Q100 (Automotive Electronic Council) standard. The Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) document is also available upon request.

The AT42QT1110 is also available on non-automotive grade silicon for use in industrial and home appliance applications. These devices offer an identical feature set to the automotive-qualified devices without the AEC-Q100 qualification.

Actel's FlashPro4 Programmer – Perfectly Suited for all Flash Families!

FlashPro4 is the new hardware programmer expanding the product portfolio of MSC Vertriebs GmbH. The FlashPro4 supports Actel's flash FPGAs such as the IGLOO® series and ProASIC®3 series (including RT ProASIC3), SmartFusion™ and Actel Fusion® families. FlashPro4 also supports FPGA embedded software program and debug managed by Actel's SoftConsole Integrated Design Environment (IDE) for embedded processors. 

FlashPro4 offers high performance communication through the use of USB 2.0 and is high-speed compliant for full use of the 480 Mbps bandwidth. For IGLOO nano 1.2 V core FPGAs, 1.2 V programming is supported.

FlashPro4 provides flash FPGA users with the latest hardware technology for performing hardware design implementation and software program implementation for embedded processor designs.

The programmer provides a common approach for facilitating FPGA debug for tools such as Synopsys® Identify® RTL debugger and Actel's on-chip debug, plus SoftConsole, Actel's embedded software IDE.

2 GB RAM on compact Qseven modules

Stutensee, Germany – The MSC Vertriebs GmbH consistently expands its product portfolio of compact  Qseven™-modules in the 70 x 70mm format based on the Intel® Atom™ processor. For memory-demanding applications the Qseven™ module MSC Q7-US15W-FD is now not only available with 512 MB or 1 GB memory, but also with an onboard 2GB DDR2-533 SDRAM.

Furthermore the Qseven™ module MSC Q7-US15W-FD with integrated 4 GB flash will be complemented by a 2 GB flash disk version. The industrial grade flash disk offers an endurance of 10 millions write cycles. The modules allow customers to boot their embedded system not only via an external hard disk but also via the flash disk. Supported are the operating systems Windows® XP (embedded) and Linux.

The Qseven™ module MSC Q7-US15W-FD is available in two performance grades with the power saving Intel® Atom™ processor Z530 (1.6GHz) or Z510 which runs at 1.1GHz clock frequency. The Z530 CPU supports Hyper Threading and Intel® Virtualisation Technology. The board also integrates the System Control Hub Intel® US15W featuring the Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 500.

The computer-on-module MSC Q7-US15W-FD offers a broad selection of important interfaces defined in the Qseven™ specification. Eight USB 2.0 ports, one PCI Express™ x1 lane, LPC, High Definition Audio, two SATA channels at 150MB/s and an 10/100/1000Base TX Ethernet interface are available. A variety of different displays can be connected via LVDS (18/24 Bit) with a maximal resolution of 1366x768 and via SVDO with 1920x1080 pixels. In the dual independent display mode two displays can be driven simultaneously.

MSC supports new Qseven specification 1.20

COM_3xQ7_PRStutensee, Germany – MSC Vertriebs GmbH, one of the founding members of the Qseven™ consortium supports the extended and recently released Qseven™ specification version 1.20. Hand in hand with the specification update the Qseven™ reference platform for system designers is being reworked and adapted to support all aspects of the new standard. In the future all MSC Qseven™ module variants will comply with the most recent version of the specification.

One highlight of the Qseven™ specification version 1.20 is its support for an ARM/RISC profile. Offering a common standard not only for x86 based processor types but also for the ARM/RISC architecture sets Qseven™ apart from other standards like COM Express™. In addition to that the Qseven™ standard has been further enhanced to now also support the EAPI programmable interface defined in the COM.0 R2.0 specification. Therewith Qseven™ and COM Express™ modules offer an identical software interface.

MSC Vertriebs GmbH, congatec AG and SECO were the founder members of the Qseven™ consortium, which was formed two years ago. The open Qseven™ standard defines power saving computer-on-modules in the compact form factor 70 mm x 70 mm. Today the consortium counts 23 members in total. Simultaneously to the presentation of the first embedded modules from MSC during electronica 2008 the Qseven™ consortium has introduced the Qseven™ Design Guide, the Board Support Package for the Embedded Software Application Interface (ESAI) and the Qseven™ reference platform developed by MSC Vertriebs GmbH.
